Dear students,
the corona virus pandemic affected most of our daily activities. The measures to contain the virus also affect the way we have to organize teaching in the coming semester.
In the last years we enjoyed to welcome you in Jena personally. We arranged kick-off meetings to get to know you, to show you around in Jena and our university, and to answer all the questions you had. Also, we organized pre-courses in mathematics and chemistry to provide those of you who need it with the necessary basics in these fields.
Unfortunately, some of you have visa problems and cannot make it in time to Jena, and also safety measures do not allows us to organize courses in the way we have done it before. Lectures and seminars will have to be given in digital formats, and also the pre-courses in mathematics and chemistry will be availabele as video lectures.
Students, who have little knowledge in mathematics and/or chemistry are strongly advised to view the lectures and work on the exercises. The kowledge taught in these courses will be needed throughout the programme. More inforamtion on the precourses can be found below.
Depending on the course of the pandemic and the situation the kick-off meeting will have to be organized via zoom. More information can be found in the respective section below.
To start the M.Sc. programme successfully, basic knowledge in mathematics is important. To provide you with the necessary basics an optional pre-course in mathematics is available online Information about the content of the course can be found in the module catalogue. The course can be found here.
To have a good start in the M.Sc. programme, also basic knowledge in chemistry is important. To provide you with the necessary basics an optional pre-course in chemistry starts, parallel to the pre-course in mathematics. More details about this module can be found here soon.
