Biomagnetic Center
Welcome to the Biomagnetic Center Jena
The Biomagnetic Center is an interdisciplinary center for basic and applied clinical research and cognitive neuroscience.
The center houses three different magnetoencephalography (MEG) systems:
- MEG I: 306-channel Neuromag Vectorview whole-head MEG system
- MEG II: 16-channel MicroSQUID system
- MCG: 195-channel AtB Argos 200 magnetocardiography system
as well as one electroencephalography (EEG) system:
- EEG: 64-channel BrainProducts EEG system.
Our research is focused on temporally highly resolved observation and analysis of neuronal activity (MEG and EEG). In addition, we use the MCG device to measure muscle, e.g. heart, activity. We have a strong focus on developing methods and modelling of MEG/EEG data.
