As part of the CEPRE junior research center funded by the BMFTR, we have produced three new patient information videos. They are aimed at patients, relatives, interested individuals, as well as women who would like to donate menstrual blood for research. The videos are available in German and include English subtitles.
The videos address key questions related to unexplained infertility. Two of the videos focus on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic endometritis, while another explains the use of menstrual blood for research.

This video presents our research project on menstrual blood donation. By analyzing cells from menstrual blood, we aim to better understand the endometrium and investigate key questions in women’s health, particularly in relation to implantation, early pregnancy, and infertility.

Chronic endometritis is a persistent inflammation of the uterine lining that often presents with few or no symptoms and is commonly caused by bacterial infections. It is frequently only diagnosed in the context of infertility and may play a role in 10–40% of affected women. Studies suggest that successful treatment can improve the chances of pregnancy.
Chronic endometritis often develops without noticeable symptoms and is diagnosed through a tissue sample of the uterine lining, which is examined in the laboratory for inflammatory cells. Treatment typically involves antibiotics. Successful therapy can also improve the chances of pregnancy.
