Safety and security
Right at the beginning of your stay with us, you will receive a security bracelet on which your full name, date of birth and individual patient number are noted. We use this bracelet as an additional safety precaution to ensure that you always receive the right treatment at the right time and in the right place. Therefore, please make sure that you always wear your wristband yourself. Ask our staff for a replacement if your bracelet has to be removed. But don't worry: the bracelet does not contain any information about your illness or the reason for your stay - not even on the barcode. The wristband is also water-resistant. You do not need to take it off to shower, for example.
Exact checklists
Of course, we will continue to ask you for your name. However, you will also be asked to provide our employees with your date of birth or first name, for example. This procedure is even more secure than simply confirming your name. You will also notice that our employees will approach you with checklists. Just like an airplane pilot before take-off, in special situations (e.g. before an operation) we check whether all the important things are in place and tick them off on our checklists - step by step. Before an operation, don't be surprised if the doctor marks the relevant part of your body directly on your skin with a pen. This is also an additional safety measure. Immediately before the operation begins, our staff will check all the important things once again.
Talk to us!
If you have any cause for complaint, if something seems strange or if you would like to give us tips for improvements, please contact our staff or write down your suggestions. We take all your feedback seriously. By the way: Your data is also in safe hands with us. Compliance with existing data protection regulations is a matter of course for us. For this reason, the UKJ has its own data protection officer. Patient data is particularly sensitive data: This is another reason why our employees only have access to data that they need for their work.
