CEPRE Science Talks: Immunological and Microbial Influences on Reproductive Health

On December 1, 2025, a lecture series featuring three invited speakers from Austria and the Netherlands took place, presenting current research findings on gynecological and reproductive health topics.
The event opened with PD DDr. Philipp Foessleitner, a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics from Vienna, who provided insights into “Translational Insights into Bacterial Vaginosis: Vaginal Microbiome Dynamics, Immunity, and Therapeutic Perspectives.”
He was followed by Dr. Renate van der Molen from the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center, who spoke on “Integrative Approaches to Reproductive Health: The Role of Lifestyle and Immune Modulation,” highlighting modern strategies for improving reproductive health.
Concluding the lecture series, Dr. Bart Moerings, also from the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center, discussed “Impact of autoimmune diseases on trophoblast invasion: implications for pregnancy outcomes,” demonstrating how autoimmune conditions can influence early pregnancy processes.
