Immunology, the science of how the body protects itself against infectious disease and cancer, and immunotherapy, the treatment of diseases via the manipulation of immune responses system, are among the most exciting areas of medicine.

Our research focuses on the mechanisms leading to chronic inflammation and we try to devise novel therapeutic strategies to combat chronic inflammatory diseases. We teach medical and dental medicine students as master students in Molecular Medicine and undergraduate students in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Nutritional Sciences.
